Subject: RE: Cover crops reduce water for cities?

I have neighbor who's a hydrologist. Did a study years ago about how the mismanagement of national forests has reduced spring runoff. Mismanagement includes curtailing grazing and logging. Now wildfires burn millions of acres making the ground bare and causing flooding. Also the state has purchased a lot of land along river bottoms for wildlife habitat. Grows completely full of cottonwood trees and willow. They use millions of gallons of water and there is less wildlife than before the state purchased it.
