Subject: Heat related death loss

NW Iowa
Spent some time in big feedlot country back in the day. Gets pretty hot out there. Has there ever been any statistics on black cattle performance versus lighter hide colors? I know when I wear a black shirt in 100 degree sunshine I'm always wishing I'd have picked a different shirt that day.

Would a herd (or industry) with fewer black hides suffer less heat related death loss?
