The connectors themselves have a method of establishing communication with the vehicle so things like disconnects should be readily detectable, but every idiot finds a way... That said, even today things like the Tesla superchargers are already running at 480VDC. So the voltage isn't exactly new territory.
I would never expect such a charger to be a residential installation and would half expect a commercial installation to have some form of load balancing (one heck of a battery bank?) for the grid considerations. Still, mid afternoon on a Saturday... that demand is going to be high. | |
