The comparison to the engine would be the power plant/solar panel/wind mill. If you used a gas engine to charge a battery, does that make the engine more efficient? The gasoline is a raw material that the engine turns into energy. A battery simply stores the energy that a raw material has been turned into.
No, I'm saying my car takes gasoline and makes power (watts), which can be compared to watts from the grid. I don't care how efficient the grid is, but I know an EV uses watts more efficiently than a gasoline car. |
