Subject: RE: Western KS feedlot death loss

Driftless SW Wisconsin

With the changing climate this type of heat may not be so rare anymore. And it’s only mid June. We have July and August to go yet.

The economics of thousands of dead cattle is not good either. But why bother putting in shade if the government bails out the feedlots for dead cattle which could have been prevented or at least greatly reduced?

Anyone driving around Greeley CO or the feedlot areas of S KS can see this is a disaster just waiting to happen.

Is it any wonder why many young people such as our college age granddaughter who we visited over the past weekend are eating vegetarian rather than purchase or consume commercial store bought or cafeteria feedlot beef. She’s not opposed to eating beef just the way most commercial beef (and pork and chicken) is raised. We had a long talk with her over lunch on Sunday.
