Wife & I played in a euchre group for over 35 yrs . Group rules included " going alone" where you could call for 1 card from your partner or " go alone" & just play your cards. If you called for your partners best you had to get all 6 tricks, everyone was dealt 6 cards, . If you got all 6 tricks you got 12 pte, if you didn't get all 6 tricks you went back 12 pts & other couple scored a point for each trick they got. If you went "alone" you got 24 pts for getting all 6 tricks, if not you went back 24 pts & other couple got 1 pt for each trick they got., A game was 14 hands & couple with most points at the end of the game won.,
That doesn't sound like any euchre I have ever heard of and certainly not according to Hoyle
