From what is described and the pictures, this is bad advice. Follow what Russ suggested. (One possibility is that a bone was broken and unfortunately it is not healing (nonunion). Wrestling with the animal and poking needles is only going to make things worse. Abscesses grow. Owner says area is getting smaller. Abscesses can be palpated and rarely make a leg not bear weight.)
I know you meant well. But way too many lumps are poked and lanced by livestock owners without clear indications for doing that...... And often make things worse! |
