Illinois Heartland | I’m in Illinois and we used to have lots of bull snakes and blue racers around the farm when I was a kid. We moved away for 30 years and when we moved back to the farm a few years ago, I have only seen one snake since then.
It seems others animals have changed also. We had tons of pheasants, raccoons and deer also back then. Now, we rarely see them but have lots of red tail hawks on every other power pole, vultures, skunks, coyotes (or maybe coy dogs- I don’t know the difference), and now we are starting to see bald eagles. | |
