Splitting up the 3 sections on 90' to more sections would be helpful with smaller odd shaped fields. As you might guess, I strongly advise getting rid of the large solenoids and going with a complete set of motorized ball valves.

Replumbing the boom for more sections may be more involved than you first think. I went from a 3 section 60' to a 4 section 60' and thought that this would only involve moving some "pieces" around and purchasing another valve and some hose. The project was more involved than I expected. In my case having 15' sections allowed me to better match up with my planter.

I'm surprised you have good results with 3 large solenoid type valves. Those are best wired with relays. The spray control triggers the relays and the relays are connected to the vehicle battery with some large wires to carry the current needed.
