VT | I'm only an hour south of Quebec, and do a significant portion of our equipment purchases north of the border. Whenever I call a QC farm equipment dealer, I always say (in French) "I'm sorry, I do not speak French. Do you speak English?" They *always* reply in English, and we go on to discuss whatever business there is to discuss. Not sure if its my hilarious accent, or just that I tried, but it does set things off on the right track.
This does not work when replying to Kijiji posts. Plenty of Quebec farmers do *not* speak English. But all the dealers and manufacturers I deal with do.
