Thumb of Michigan
I spread 325# of K, 100# MAP/DAP, 50# AMS, 2# Boron, after 1st cutting. Might reduce some this year ($$$$).

Oldest field was planted 2009, still about 50% alfalfa, with OG. This field's 3rd cutting is being sold at local feed store for $12 a bale (I'm selling to them at $9). It's the hay most of my customers (read horsey) want. My strongest alfalfa field (95%, 5% OG) is the hardest to sell. I'm letting the OG mature in this field this year to rememdy that situation (OG self-seeds HERE).

I go by the rule of 50 units of K, 8-10 units of Phos is removed by every ton of dry matter hay that goes down the road. The reason for the AMS is to get 10-11# of sulfur (the grasses can use the little N).
