North Dakota | North Dakota has corporate farming laws but as with most things there are work arounds such as forming general, limited partnerships, etc. As with most things if you have a treasure chest to hire lawyers there are ways around most anything. But…..laws change. Circumstances change. Power structures change. Government controls change. Political shifts occur. It is all fluid and I don’t see any outcome lasting either short or long term. History belays this. We had large corporate farms over 100 years ago that dissolved in short order. Take heed of the bonanza farms of the 1870’s-1890’s. 27,000-40,000+ acres. Did they last? No. We are just caretakers. | |
