Subject: RE: Mastered the round about

Highland Center, in Southeast Iowa

Today's round-about experience in our nearby town:

Got in behind Great Uncle Bob today thru the 2 roundabouts in our nearby town. Great Uncle Bob was pretty cautious.....stopped at the entry to the 1st roundabout to be sure he could see no cars from any direction before entering. Then at the 2nd roundabout, there was a petroleum transport leaving the gas station at the next corner. Great Uncle Bob needed to stop.....dead azz stop and wait,,,,even after the transport's front tires were turned to the right as though he might be heading toward the U.S. highway instead of down the residential street that is to the west of the roundabout.............cause, ya know,, ya just never really know where those fuel transports might be headed..........there might be a resident down the street who has an underground tank in his front yard.

I'm sorry, I'm touchy tonite, but why in the world would you dead-azz stop at the entry to a roundabout to be sure a tanker wasn't headed down a residential street??
