Pittsburg, Kansas | I wasn't a fan of them and still not for a lot of reasons, trucking included.
But I have come to appreciate the fact that they do work well in some situations. They have no traffic lights to cost the electricity and maintenance of, which is nice for taxpayers. And in situations where it is mostly heavy car traffic there is a lot of traffic integration they can handle without bunching up traffic like a traffic light does.
Like so many things in life, there are pluses and minuses to them. They really work pretty well in third world countries where electric traffic lights are just not feasible and four way stop signs are just a joke of who is going to go first.
