RR Valley, ND; MN native | Years ago when I was still at home there was a huge rock just below the surface you'd often scrape the plow or cultivator over.
According to Dad, back when you could get dynamite at the hardware store, grandpa hired the local guy (first name of Elmer, a name you don't hear of much anymore) who would handle such things to try deal with that rock. The story goes they blew it up 3 times and filled a stone boat with chunks each time before giving up on getting it all.
Land has been rented out now for almost 25yrs and I don't know if the tenant still deals with it or maybe some more modern heavy equipment has taken care of it now. | |
