Never heard a story of anyone on their death bed saying they wish they'd of bought more "stuff" either.

I have. My grandfather, who owned his own business since 1929 once said, right out of the blue " I wish I had bought a boat". I said "WHAT?", he said he wished he had bought a boat. Always wanted a boat but never bought one. Not because he couldn't afford it, but because he worked EVERY DAY. worked right up until he went into the hospital in his mid 80's where he dies a couple months later. To be fair, he made the boat comment several years before he was "on his death bed" but still.
