NNW Nebraska | I would absolutely not do a loop. That makes it to hard to find faults. If you do the perimeter , split it at the far side. The resistance in the wire will keep more power on the half that isn't shorted.
If you have any electric fence, you need to buy a fault finder and learn to use it.
100 mile fencer doesn't mean anything to me. Forget cheap fencers. Minimum fencer I would buy is a Taylor 5 joule. That seems like it has more bite than a different brand 6 joule fencer.
I have several different brands of fencers often recommended on this site, in my junk pile. I do not have any Taylor fencers that are not working.
If you have a good fencer and several ground rods, it would not be likely to get enough of a short to completely make your fence complety dead. | |
