The database, while helpful, only includes components pushed through certification, which can be quite extensive (with associated costs), so it is not done by every manufacturer or with every component (or function). You will mostly find newer hardware in the database and less of the components already established in the market...

Very true. Historically there has been a lot of intentional or unintentional misinformation floating around about ISOBUS. Sales guys (not only sales, of course) talking about "ISO-ready", "ISO standard", "ISO compliant", "ISO compatible", etc, when none of those terms has a standard meaning, leads to a lot of confusion in the market. ISO "certified" actually means something, but as you mention it is definitely possible to build a solid/functional/interoperable ISO system that simply hasn't gone through the administrative process (and expense) of conformance testing and formal certification (maybe not yet, maybe not ever) for inclusion in the AEF database.
