Subject: Banding Infection

Finger Lakes
5 days ago the vet banded eight 7-800# bulls. Today I can smell the smell of an infection when near them
They all look dry and appears to be no sign of infection by the band. They received 2 shots of tetanus vaccine. We did not slit the scrotum due to fly season here. How concerned should I be? Never have smelled that on banded calves before, but never did any this big or when it's this hot. Appetite is good
