North Central Iowa | Always 2 things to keep in mind. The better correction service levels only really help in having the system know exactly where the actual location is supposed to be. Doesn’t help with steering straight. So better correction services help with repeatability and drift through the day.
If trouble staying on an existing straight line or the system is indicating drifting back and forth off the expected line by several inches, that is an issue with the steering system itself; either calibration/setup or, potentially, a faulty component.
So a WASS only system can steer perfectly straight, it just might not in the same place an hour later. I’ve also found WASS tends to drift more right after power up. I think it can take some time (10 minutes?) for the systems to download via satellite some of the correction data. | |
