OK Panhandle | It sounds like the machine is running out of RAM when the game is running and is having to page to the HDD. RAM is usually pretty cheap, and if you can get the amount to or over 16GB, I bet you see a big improvement.
Also, if your HDD is a spinning disk, upgrading it to an SSD will be a huge performance boost. 500GB Samsung drives are about $65, so not bad, but you'll have to reinstall everything if you change to it. | |
