Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | I was working as a Tech when EZ-Boom was first introduced. It was originally designed to work with sprayers for spray control and section shut off known as auto swath. Since the logic for planter clutches is opposite (electricity is used to STOP planting rather than START spraying) an external relay box that reversed the logic was used at first. I even made some from scratch with off the shelf SPDT relays.
Later the programming was changed which meant that the external logic reversing relays were not needed. Within the programming of the system you had some choices. 1) control the rate and section valves on a sprayer 2) control the section valves only on a sprayer 3) control the clutches on a planter (reversed operation).
It's been quite a while and my memory is fuzzy concerning the details. You really need someone who is doing this to help or the owner's manuals.
