Subject: RE: Starlink satellite internet

Thunder Bay, Ontario, Great White North

I have had Starlink since December 2020, I guess still a 'beta tester' until told otherwise.

It works fabulously. Can stream multiple (like 5 or 6) video calls at once, very little lag on the connection.  Does occasionally (few times per week) drop off for 10-20 seconds but this has become less frequent over time. Had one outage about 45 minutes early in the winter.

Very happy with the service. Cost is $145 Canadian per month, paid $800 for the dish and mounts if I recall correctly.

Supposed to get fibre optic line in the near future to my yard, will drop the Starlink when that is functional.

Should be quite a bit cheaper and faster with fibre than Starlink, but up till now the satellite has been a vast improvement over the DSL copper line that was available until now.
