southern MN | So, the internet is a big thing and you access it through a modem.
Your local devices hook up to your local WiFi signal from your router. This local small network can access each of your own devices or can access the modem and get to the internet data.
Your data plan would apply to the amount of data that is transferred between the modem and the router.
I am not aware of of any company that would, or could, limit the amount of data that your router sends between your local devices
When your cell phones use their own data plan to access the internet, and then use your router to send that data to the tv, they will not be using the modem so they would not be using any minutes of your ‘modem plan.’
While it should not be needed, you could use a cable between your phone and your tv to send the data.
