| I have a mesh system from 6 years ago. Main router is on the top floor of a 2 floor house. I put the mesh pancakes along the top floor. I had a bedroom in the basement that was to far from the main router to get good reception. By turning on all 3 pancakes I can get very good reception in that bedroom. I can run a roku playing youtube, etc and several phones where that was not possible before.
The nice thing about a mesh system is that you can walk through the house and mesh will move to the better pancake for reception without your phone even knowing it has changed pancakes.
This can cause problems with old 2.4 systems that cannot differentiate between 5 Ghz and 2.4 systems and can only use 2.4 signal.
