Up until now, her and I have had the same office and shared the same computer. We are in the process of building shop so this winter I'll have my own office and different computer. What's the best way to share docs/files so they are all in same place and accessible by both (please don't say google docs). We are Mac people so should I keep using I cloud? Or maybe Microsoft one drive?

One option no one's mentioned yet.
Set up a cheap system add a couple decent sized SSDs and one large HDD.
Drop something like Debian or Centos (Linux variants) on it.
2 (or more) SSDs will allow you to use a RAID array (for both speed and reasonable security) and the HDD is for your long term storage.
(Don't forget a serious UPS!!)
If you run ethernet cable between the shop and the house network speed would not be an issue.

Now you get to control your information (and the equipment) on your server.
Problem free - - - nope - - - but you will have minimized the likelihood of intrusion AND you get to control your software.
If you want to save huge on power costs and you're not looking for blazing server equipment - - - something like a RaspberryPi4 can run things quite well.
(I only have 1 monitor that isn't on my main system and all my other systems are run from the main one.)
