North Dakota | While cloud storage might seem like the way to go, unless you have very good high speed internet transfer speeds can be a problem. Documents and small files don't cause a problem and can be downloaded in a few seconds. Where you will have problems is if you have videos or a large number of photos you wish to use on both computers. They can take up large amounts of space and can take hours to upload a video.
My preferred method is a NAS. Network attached storage. You can get them in any size, with enough storage for any volume of data. Some routers can even have a cheap USB hard drive plugged in to be used as a NAS. More expensive ones will have the capability to have redundant drives so if one fails you don't lose all the data. The better ones will give you access via the internet from anywhere. | |
