Sometimes there's a newer driver but typically windows will tell you the best one is installed.
Life is too short and a new mouse is inexpensive - I would get a new USB cabled one.
Look at the ergonomic styles you hold like a joystick.
Wireless is nice but the batteries need replacing quite often regardless how much you use it and typically it will just stop without warning - best avoided IMO
