it could be starting to be defective - or have you worn your mouse pad smooth - so i can't detect anything changing - I have several at work that we wear out what is under them and then they stop - put a new calendar por piece of paper under them and you are good to go

in fact we have drafting tables at work with that heavy plasticy cream yellow "pad" covering them - I do not know what thse pads are made out of, but no mouse will respond when on the table - has to have a paper or mousepad
