West Central Ohio | I have a Davis Vantage Vue. Works well except I think because the anemometer (the thing that measures wind speed) is near/above the rain collector that the rainfall readings are not super accurate during windy storms. Mine is wireless/solar so there is no wire running to the sensor suite that sits outside on the pole. The console is inside and requires batteries plus a backup power source. With an additional device I have mine set up to transfer data to a computer. Originally I had it set up download to my desktop a couple of times a day which meant keeping computer on 24/7. A couple of years ago I set up a Raspberry Pi to receive the download every 5 minutes using WeeWx (open source weather station software) Works well and I can access the data anytime remotely using computer or phone. | |
