| Good Morning Everyone,
We are starting a long-planned kitchen renovation in the next month or so.
We have been contemplating gas vs conduction vs electric stove tops. We have zero experience with
conduction, but are considering. Below are our pro’s and cons with each;
Gas-
we had a maytag range for a few years, burner valves required frequent replacement, and they were quite expensive.
Never could get very good heat control. It was either on or off.
We did have a couple of instances where the gas valve was bumped and started letting gas into the room. A bit concerned that something like this could cause a problem as we get older- hearing aids are never as good as regular ears, and since covid nothing really smells anymore.
Electric- replaced the Maytag with Whirlpool electric range. The burners heat up to temp, then turn off until burner cools slightly, then back on. Very difficult to fry bacon. In the past it seemed that burners came up to heat, then maintained that heat.
With both gas and electric, I wonder if we went too cheap and just had low end appliances, so I dont want to rule either out.
Any comments re: either gas / electric or conduction would be appreciated. | |
