Subject: Talk about feed grinders again

N FLA
I have been selling ground corn the last year or two. I've had a place doing it this year. I'll spare the details but I need to start grinding myself, or probably throw in the towel on this deal. I've bought a bin full of corn so that part is done. I always sell 1500 pound sacks. And I do some sacks of ground corn mixed with peanut flour that I get a good price on. I also get some other commodities like grass seed light seed or cheaper hay that I could add in the program.

I need 2 tractors, a grinder and a scale, tractors- one to run a grinder and one to hold the supersack while we load and put sack in barn.

I have a Deere 5101 with loader/forks, and good PTO but no additional hydraulic service. It could run a mechanical grinder or move my sacks.
I also have a little Korean tractor a 3 frame tractor. It has a good PTO and an additional hydraulic service, and might lift 1500 pounds but I'm not sure. My gut says it won't run a grinder and can't lift the pallets of feed.

I see Spiker Farms has 2 Gehl feed grinders a 95 and 115. He told me those are both mechanical drive. So I could find a pto tractor easily. Then use my loader tractor for holding sacks. I think agtalk approves of Gehl grinders. Does anyone have any comments on the particulars of these models? Could a 25 hp tractor run one of these? Maybe not forever, but for a season? If it could that would cover all my equipment.

They also have the Bearcat 1250. Spiker said he has been using this on his farm and it is a nice machine. It is a roller mill. It is a hydraulic load/unload. So I have to get together another tractor at a minimum. But this might be a lot better machine and I might like the roller mill for getting the feed my customers like. Would that negate the ability to add some hay for filler on some other feed?

Can I grind right out of a hopper bottom with one of these. That would be most ideal scenario. Otherwise I have to borrow a seed tender to make this work.
