Gruver Tx | We had some really bad winds last week (80 mph) that scoured off wheat trash in places in growing 6” cereal rye cover. I’m going to plant this later to corn mid to late May and let rye grow for a few weeks to around 18”-24” tall to protect against further wind damage and terminate then with Roundup. I was thinking of putting 3 oz. Of flumi over the top of it and water it in with 1” of pivot water. Can or should I put .5 aatrex in there or will it hurt or kill the rye. I’m afraid of a weed flush if I water with the dry scouring winds we have had that messed up the mat of stubble the past few weeks with out a pre herbicide out there. Any opinions on this or another pre I could use that wouldn’t kill the rye. It’s really dry and rye is just sitting there with no rain forecasted and a little shot of water would help it grow. | |
