If the farmer can produce 200 bu corn then pay 200/acre. If the land only produces $160 then pay $160.
Have 2 traditional payments based on 180/acre, then a bonus payment based on production after yield is known. If the land 209 bushels, pay 200/acre.
Win for everyone. Risk is reduced.
Around here rent is also 50/50. ALways has been. I never new 1//3 2/3 was common untill I went to school at SIU and met guys from across the state. | |
