lower Michigan | I have suffered with TMJ in the past. I went to a specialist and he taught me how to self adjust my jaw. It sounds crazy but it really helped me. You put your pointer finger upside down in each ear and lifted up towards the ceiling as you slowly open your mouth .Do it as often as you feel you need to. I did this daily at first and slowly lessoned the times I would need to. He also told me to treat my jaw as a sprain that needs to rest to heal. He had me eating a soft food diet as to not stress the jaw. No meat or anything that would make my jaw work. I could slowly add tougher food as I felt relief. It's been years since I've had an issue. Also gum should never be chewed if you have TMJ. I hope she finds relief. | |
