coast of Maine | Working /City,I put a foam block foundation beneath our 200 year old barn.Jacked up a section at time.The steel adjustable jack posts you find at most hardware stores are then used to support sill.This allows you to pour a footer with the post in place.Then you build your foam forms with those jack posts still in place inside the forms.Putting your rebar in as height is reached for new layer.Leaving a few inches to pump concrete in at sill edge.Then when finished and wall is cured you use pressure treated sill bases to insert on top of foundation,cut to fit between top of jack posts.A very simple way,,hard to describe.We did one section at a time for safety.40x75x50 ish tall barn | |
