I think there's enough to the left of the line that we don't have to give up any on the right. 

Mainly my point was, I would sooner have an employed, taxpaying joe sixpack paying for his cornfed steak or hamburger, rather than trying to fund his medical insurance, unemployement benefits, and housing assistance.
