Not sure about eastern and western Ky but central Ky had some of the best yields ever. My worst this past year was as good as my best usually is. Couple of things that stood out this year to me were the importance of good stands (and higher populations) along with weed control. Had one field where stand suffered along with weed control. Don't have a yield monitor but I am sure there was a 40 plus bpa drop in yield in that area. Showed me that money spent on items such as row cleaners, seed firmers, etc gets an excellent ROI. Also, went with all Liberty corn this year and post application of Ignite was well worth the time and money. |
