Macon, IL | I subscribed to two daily emails of the well know analysts this year-don't want to name them. Also watched Ag Day every day. Admit I let the talking heads sway my opinion more than I should.
For 2009 I took a spreadsheet and for each day put in their main points for that day along with daily price, and then tracked that against prices in two other columns.
What is interesting to do is to shift the comment column up or down a couple weeks-or months depending on the comment and leave the actual price columns static. Then you can line up current prices with what they were saying they were going to be two or three months ago at this time.
Some pretty good calls, some pretty awful ones. Going to do it again for 2010 and put my own sentiment in-hopefully a way to learn from mistakes of the past. | |
