SW Ohio | Got a postcard from auditor, farmland values have not been re-appraised for almost twenty years---till now! Our county has a nice website where you can look up properties and all the info about them including taxes paid and values, so i looked up all my rental farms....every one went up in farmland value and every one that had residential went down, this is value only not tax rate. Most of the farmland went up 50-100% , yes double!! some went up 400% or more, again this is value not tax rate. I went to auditor and asked about tax rate--answer was "we don't know yet" It will be interesting when the bills come out in February!! | |
