"Corn export sales in the week ended Dec. 10 topped 1.25 million metric tons (MMT). Sales easily outpaced trade expectations and pushed year-to-date sales 12% ahead of the year-ago pace. (In the December Supply & Demand Report, USDA estimated a 10.3% increase over last year."



USDA Announces Corn Sale

Private exporters reported to USDA export sales of 176,000 metric tons of corn for delivery to Mexico during the 2009/2010 marketing year. The marketing year for corn began Sept. 1.


reported today 12/24/09..............Corn: Net sales of 1,591,800 MT--a marketing-year high--were up 30 percent from the previous week and 61 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were reported for Mexico (553,600 MT), Japan (487,900 MT, including 39,200 MT switched from unknown destinations), Taiwan (198,100 MT), unknown destinations (82,300 MT), Egypt (60,000 MT), South Korea (45,000 MT), and Guatemala (30,600 MT). Decreases were reported for Jamaica (2,900 MT). Exports of 414,700 MT--a marketing-year low--were down 47 percent from the previous week and 45 percent from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Japan (175,600 MT), Mexico (93,200 MT), Taiwan (49,100 MT), Canada (34,600 MT), South Korea (27,200 MT), and Costa Rica (14,500 MT).

this in the face of record DDGS exports year over year presently occurring too boot!
