But if they are unemployed or unable to earn enough to feed, house, and clothe their family then its a little unrealistic to expect they will be able to afford health care premiums. Instead they will put off health care and use the emergency room for health care. That's a pretty costly way to provide health care. Those of us who have insurance are constantly reminded by insurance companies to use a lower cost health care provider. It may be extreme to subsidize premiums for those that can't afford it, but the alternative is pretty expensive, too. | |
