Are you showing deficiency in them in the plant? From a scientist point of view I've heard presentations that zinc can be a tricky one because it can show good in a plant tissue test but a plant could still respond to an application of zinc. Zinc is an easy one to put in furrow.

I was told that over applying nutrients either too much for the season or at the wrong time can hurt yield almost more than or more often than a deficiency

You'd want cleated products.
I bought my micronutrients from Conklin. Got the ones I wanted and I know that through them the product is going to be a good product. Whether it makes the result I hope to see I don't know yet, but it has no bearing upon Conklin it's upon my testing and application
