I had the lever and bracket right behind the last stake pocket, cable ran up to the pump, never took sideboards off so that was good. If I were to do it again I would drill an inch or so hole in the siderail between two stringers(not the removable sides) and put a shaft thru with a handle that could be taken on and off. Very handy having those controls back there.
