I agree with this 100%.

Now business is all custom, but no matter what scale you are going to do it on you have to know your costs. Not the state average rate. YOUR individual costs for your equipment. You have to break down those costs. It costs more to farm X than it does Y. It costs more to run a drill in no till than conventional till.

The custom operator that does not know his costs does not make money. I am not making money at this point this fall but I do have to take care of those who take care of me,
