Subject: RE: Some What If's

So how badly does China really need our business? This isn't in total disagreement with your thought, but it seems everyone says "China needs us as bad as we need them". Could it be China is about to go into another new "5 year plan" where they focus on internal sales of goods rather than external? If they can spin up their economy to be consumers, how badly do they need our purchasing to rebuild quickly? China has always had the focus of China being the "golden kingdom" and center of the world. They see the rest of the world as resources for them, so why not focus on sales to India and other areas that have lots of new consumers, and let the U.S. go through a restructuring? They may take the view it is better to let us go through an attitude change and become more responsible with our money-and this would be better for China in the long term.

just thoughts that come to mind.
