You can use income averaging again this year. I can't answer your question on 179, but if you want to max out a tax brackett, that would be a way to do it. Note that equipment Depr goes to 5 years (instead of 7) for 2009. I don't know what you are depreciating, but I would use the 179 on assets with the longest depr schedule.
