E.Central MN | I have heard several interviews with bankers on PBS, etc and the only thing they are concerned with is making risk-free money. The govt has required them to improve their balance sheets because of all the stupid investments that they were party to. The easiest way for them to accomplish it is 1: make new loans only to highly capitalized businesses, 2: call in any risky loans when they can get their principle back, and 3: buy govt treasuries...presto/chango and they have improved their balance sheets. It's a brave new world out there. | |
