Central Missouri | 855 I have to explain the differences to my mother about once a month. In the 70's we didn't have 12 trillion in debt with unfunded liabilities of 60-100 trillion and a congress with no intention of reducing spending. We also now have a shrunken economy with real estate problems boiling like a volcano. On top of that we have 300 billion in interest payments annually as a country and that number is growing. We are also fighting a war on 2 fronts with no end in site and an enemy that is impossible to defeat like we did in WW2.
