Had an old Maytag that lasted "forever". It was replaced with another Maytag toploader which lasted about 8 years. A repairman said that thay are no better than any other anymore. When we said that we wanted something "heavy duty" the dealer sold us a Speed Queen. That was about two years ago, so far, so good. We will see how his recommendation holds out.
